STRONG IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON OUR TOURS
The state of alarm declared by the government of our country, due to the expansion of COVID-19 virus, has forced us to a total confinement from march to may 2020 which caused the cancellation of the whole cultural and artistic activity programmed in Spain for months. The same situation has been given in the whole planet and we have witnessed how the health and lives of many citizens in the five continents had suffered severely, as well as social customs and cultural programs have been dramatically affected.
In IKEBANAH we have been forced as well to cancel all our tours planned from march to july in China, Taiwan, Macao, Japan, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Portugal and, of course, Spain. During the quarantine we have been following closely the day to day and we hope that some of the proposals scheduled for August and September can still be mantained. We wish as well that normality may fully come back to our calendars and scenic agendas from October.
We will be publishing new news and live dates in our agenda in the coming weeks. We hope that this time of confinement and standstill had really been of some use to our governments in order to reflect on the way our society moves forward and that culture continues to be an impulse and an essential encouragement in their plans, as a catalyst to make everyone's life healthier, mentally and emotionally.
We are next to all the families who have been suffering the effects of this pandemic in all its aspects, personally and professionally. And, above all, we want to thank all the artists in our country for their generosity and commitment to emotionally relieve in an altruistic manner those who suffered most.
A hug to all, we keep going, in the present, without forgetting what we have left behind while striving for a more supportive and just future.
FETEN AWARD FOR CONSERVANDO MEMORIA (PRESERVING MEMORIES)
The 29th edition of FETEN, Performing Arts Fair for Child and Youth, which brings together every year the whole sector, was held from 9th to 14th February in Gijón, where El PATIO TEATRO received the BEST AUTHORSHIP AWARD (ex aequo with Pata Teatro) for his play PRESERVING MEMORIES (Conservando Memoria).
This award adds to those obtained at FIRA MEDITERRANIA of Manresa in October 2019: FESTIVAL TERRITORIO VIOLETA AWARD and at FIRA de TITELLES de LLEIDA 2019: Drac d'Or to the best Dramaturgy and Autonomies Drac d'Or.
Conservando Memoria is a homage to the roots and the ancestors of Izaskun Fernández, the actress, who, with emotion, truth and simplicity, with a poetic discourse, a visual language and a few objects, knows how to open the jars of memory of each spectator and how to touch the strings of their heart, as only a few are able to achieve.

OPENING SEASON 2019 - 2020
2019 has emerged as a year of consolidation with respect to national and international presence of IKEBANAH and proposals we stand for.
6 long-term tours to Asia in addition to other visits between March and December (Ponten Pie in China, Japan y Singapore, double of Teatre Animal in China, El Patio Teatro in China and Japan, Aracaladanza in Macao and China, L'Home Dibuixat, Xirriquiteula and Bufa & Sons in China, Javier Aranda in South Korea) confirm that our major distribution market this year has been Asia, besides Spain.
There have been important raids to South America as well, with VUELOS by Aracaladanza in prestigious theatres of Peru and Chile and others to North America with the premiere of VIDA at FIAMS (Biennial of Puppetry, Saguenay, Canada).
In 2019-20 let's look at Spain and Europe a little more without leaving our asian raids, so this is an invitation for those who stay in national and European territories to follow, look for us and enjoy our artists and special, unique, beautiful shows that we represent.
Enjoy them!
